It is hard to believe, but our Fall 2017 Convention will begin next week in the afternoon of Tuesday, November 14 and conclude Friday, November 17! As some of you can attest, Convention is one of the most exciting events and a unique opportunity, where we can all talk about issues and opportunities that face rural municipalities across the province, and get to know one another.

For those of you whom this will be your first Convention, welcome! You will soon realize the value of having the opportunity to network with your rural counterparts and learn about all things rural Alberta!

We welcome you to get engaged in all the events of the convention, but would like to give you a quick taste of what is to come:

Wednesday, November 15, 2017
10:20 am – 11:20 am – AAMDC Orientation
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Resolutions Session

Thursday, November 16, 2017
1:00 pm – 1:15 pm – Election for Vice President
3:00 pm – 3:45 pm – Elections for AAMDC Board Directors (District 2, District 3, and District 5)

In addition, we have many engaging and insightful events:

  • Breakout sessions featuring cannabis legalization, conflict management, planning for the new MGA, cyber liability, council meetings and rules and procedures, economic development, and asset management;
  • The Ministerial Forum;
  • Alberta’s Opposition Party Leaders Panel;
