The summer 2012 edition of Rural Routes has now been mailed out to all AAMDC members. One copy for each member of council has been mailed out, along with Partners’ Program brochure for the upcoming Fall 2012 Convention. The new issue is also available online, and can be read here.

The summer 2012 Rural Routes features a variety of articles that focus on alternative energy.

Inside the magazine you’ll find:

  • Parkland County residents Christy and Dennis Cuku sit down with us and reflect on their decision to build their breathtaking net-zero home last year, in Catching up with the Cuku’s.
  • Learn how the MCCAC is helping communities around the province Take Action To Manage Energy.
  • Camrose County proves that Where There’s a Willow, There’s a Way with their award winning wood biomass heating system.
  • In Booze at the Big game: Your Municipality Plays a Role, Jubilee Insurance Agencies informs municipalities on how they can protect themselves at sporting events hosted in their communities.
  • And, much more!

This is the final issue of Rural Routes. Although we have received fantastic feedback from our members, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue publication. However, we will continue to offer similar feature articles, community profiles and other interesting rural news through our website, which is currently being redesigned to better accommodate such content.

Thank you to all of our loyal readers!
