OUR PRIVACY POLICY AND COMMITMENT TO PROTECTING YOUR PRIVACY

The Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties—Jubilee Insurance Agencies (herein referred to as AAMDC) and our member affiliates are committed to protecting and keeping private our members’ information. Our privacy policy sets out principles on the collection, retention, use and disclosure of member information. All employees are required to comply with the privacy policy in the execution of their daily activities.

We identify to our members the purpose for collecting their information at the time of doing so or prior to its actual collection. In turn, our members must consent to the collection of information expressly in order for us to use it for those purposes which, inter alia, will specifically include:

Underwriting Claims

And all related facets thereof or incidental thereto, in order to meet the requirements of third party insurance companies or similar organizations.

We are committed to maintaining the privacy, security and accuracy of the information collected. We only use and disclose in accordance with applicable legislation, ensuring the information collected is only used for the purpose for which it was originally intended.

Canadian privacy legislation defines member information broadly as information about “an identifiable member” or as information that allows a member to be identified. AAMDC would use this information to understand your needs and preferences, including contact and communication with the member such as conducting surveys, research and evaluations.

Your member information is stored in a secured location and on servers controlled by AAMDC, located either at our office or at the offices of our service providers. We make every reasonable effort to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of member information under our control.  Our security policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary. Our secure data networks are protected by industry standard firewalls and password protection systems.

Through AAMDC, you may link to web pages and websites operated by affiliated companies. If these websites are not operated or controlled by AAMDC or member affiliates, AAMDC is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such external websites. AAMDC may disclose member information among its affiliated companies and with third-party service providers acting on AAMDC’s behalf. However, AAMDC will not sell members’ information to anyone. Nor do we share member information with organizations outside of our affiliates that would use it to contact you about their own products or services.

You may withdraw your consent at any time (subject to legal or contractual obligations and on providing us reasonable notice) by contacting us in writing. Please be aware that withdrawing your consent may prevent us from providing you with any requested product or service.

We may amend our privacy policy from time to time. The current version will always be posted on our website for your access. Should you have any questions once this privacy policy is reviewed, please feel free to contact our office at 780.955.3639.
