The AAMDC is pleased to announce the recipients of the AAMDC Municipal Careers Awareness Grant. Each of the following members will receive a $5,000 grant to assist their municipality to implement a municipal careers awareness campaign.

  1. Lac La Biche County
  2. Municipal District of Smoky River No. 130
  3. Municipal District of Willow Creek No. 26

Many of our members have experienced challenges in recruiting and retaining employees. As a result, the Municipal Careers Awareness Toolkit was developed through a diverse stakeholder partnership to help municipalities produce a simple campaign to raise awareness about the opportunities and benefits of employment within the municipal sector. The Toolkit provides a “how-to” guide and includes strategies for media relations, advertising and the utilization of social media.

The grant recipients will use the Municipal Careers Awareness Toolkit as a guide for building awareness of municipal careers in their respective communities. The AAMDC offers its best wishes to the grant recipients and will assess the success of this program over the next year to determine its value in raising public awareness of municipal careers.
