Citizen Engagement Toolkit
The Citizen Engagement Toolkit has been developed by the AAMDC and the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association to assist municipalities in engaging their citizens in decision-making. This software-based tool uses guided questions to direct the user to appropriate engagement tools and captures the results in an engagement plan.

Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP) Tools

In response to Resolution 15-05F Integrated Community Sustainability Plan Development and as part of the funding requirements of the New Deal for Cities and Communities (NDCC), the AAMDC has developed a toolkit to assist administrators develop their municipality's ICSP.

The objectives are:

  • Build community capacity by providing municipal governments with tools that will facilitate long-term, sustainable planning for their communities
  • Give municipal governments the tools required to access funds under the New Deal for Cities and Communities.

This long range plan addresses the four required dimensions-environmental, cultural, social and economic-and provides a variety of reporting options as well as the option for consolidated reporting to the Government of Alberta.

Broadband Toolkit

The Broadband toolkit is designed to assist municipalities explore potential roles in delivering high-speed Internet to rural ratepayers. Potential roles are rated for viability and a subsequent business case is provided, dependant on a municipality's desired level of participation. The toolkit will also provide an approximation of the infrastructure needed to deliver internet service in your municipality.

Rural Urban Cost Sharing Toolkit

The Cost Sharing for Success report is the culmination of nearly a year of deliberations involving political and administrative representatives from rural and urban municipalities.  Participants were tasked with analyzing the Alberta context concerning cost-sharing agreements.
