Advocacy
Advocacy works to ensure that provincial and federal decision-makers, industry and other relevant stakeholders understand and incorporate the best interests of rural Alberta.

The AAMDC Board of Directors and staff sit on a number of committees and task forces as a voice for rural Alberta. We build strong working relationships with key stakeholders that increase our ability to influence legislation.

To ensure full transparency and accountability, the association provides updates of the meetings we attend in an advocacy capacity. They can be viewed here.

Advocacy positions are based on resolutions passed by the membership.

Trade Division
The AAMDC Trade Division has been providing products and services to Alberta municipalities and not-for-profit groups for 70 years.

Our commission arrangement with over 100 approved suppliers helps to secure competitively-priced goods and services.

Trade boasts over 800 members and associate members. We are able to secure national account pricing on specific items and negotiate attractive commissions to maximize dividend payout.

In 2008, Trade entered into contracts with Imperial Oil, UFA, Parkland Industries (FasGas/RaceTrac), Bluewave and Husky to supply our members with gasoline, diesel and lubricants.

This program, Prairie Fuel Advisors (2008) Ltd. (PFA),a ims to combat one-sided pricing advantages enjoyed by petroleum suppliers and to help our members purchase fuel at a lower cost while still supporting local fuel dealers.

Jubilee Insurance Agencies Ltd.
Jubilee Insurance Agencies Ltd. is a not-for-profit insurance provider that offers coverage to a variety of clients:

• municipalities
• service commissions
• water co-ops
• schools
• community groups
• other non-profit groups that traditionally have difficulty getting insurance.
