FLAGPERSONS

(Temporary, Full-time)

 

Parkland County has six (6) temporary Flagperson positions available in the Public Works Department and two (2) temporary Flagperson positions available in the Engineering Services Department for approximately five (5) months, commencing either late-April or mid-May.  Reporting to the Foreman and stationed in Stony Plain, you will provide traffic control/directions to motoring public traveling through work areas with some labour duties required.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.  You will be supplied with protective equipment (coveralls, hard hat, and fluorescent reflectorized vest) which must be worn.

  

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Certification as a Flagperson is desirable however training will be provided.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License. Upon hire, a current Driver’s Abstract and satisfactory driving record must be provided.
  • Ability to relay information in a quick & courteous manner.

Rate of Pay:

$19.12 per hour

Hours of Work:

This position is based on working 40 hours/week.  Hours may vary significantly depending on weather and operational conditions.  Extensive overtime may be required.
