(Maintenance Service Worker III; Seasonal)


Parkland County has a Seasonal position available in the Agricultural Services Department for a Service Truck Operator (Maintenance Service Worker III) from approximately May to October each year.  The successful candidate will perform a variety of duties including changing and sharpening mower blades, transporting fuel, water and herbicide; trimming grass by weed eating around signs and guard rails; transporting Mower Operators to and from work sites as well as other related duties.  This position works in conjunction with the Mower Operators and will assume their duties during their absence.  Excellent time management skills and the ability to deal with the public effectively and courteously are required.


  • High School Diploma required.
  • Knowledge and experience in the operation of medium duty vehicles including sprayers and tractors.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Farm experience is preferred.
  • Valid Alberta Pesticide Applicator’s License or the ability to obtain one.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License. Upon hire, a current Driver’s Abstract and satisfactory driving record must be provided.

8 hours/day; 40 hours/week

This position is covered by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union No. 955 Collective Agreement.
