The Board of Directors of Rocky Senior Housing Council is accepting applications for the position of Chief Administrative Officer.  Our management body is responsible for 76 self-contained apartments, and 72 Lodge units, for seniors 65 years of age and older.  The communities served within the organization are Caroline, Leslieville, Town of Rocky Mountain House and Clearwater County.  Head office is located in Rocky Mountain House. 

 The CAO is accountable for providing leadership as well as management expertise in the operation of affordable housing facilities.  The organization requires a leader who will focus on achieving operational excellence and building strong, supportive relationships in the community as well as the organization.

Ideally the successful candidate will:

  • Have management experience with a foundation or housing management body
  • Have experience in financial planning, strategic planning and budgeting
  • Have experience in human resources and labour relations
  • Be a people person who combines compassion, accessibility and professionalism in working with those affected by the aging process and issues of affordable housing
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with staff, residents, the board, local and provincial governments and the public
  • Be a strategic thinker with the ability to understand the financial aspects of the operation and work with the Board and community to do long range planning of the housing/lodging needs.


  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in social sciences or business administration/management. Combination of education and management work history with seniors and affordable housing will be considered.


  • Overseeing apartment and lodge operations
  • Application assessments
  • Rent reviews
  • Move-in and move-out procedures
  • Accountable for dealing with customers such as home care, contractors, resident families, government advisors, bookkeeper, auditors and inspectors
  • Support the Lodge Accommodation Standards compliance


  • Energetic team player who “leads by example”
  • Promote the organization to the community by demonstrating respect, caring, honesty, integrity, safety and inclusiveness to ensure results are in the best interests of the organization and its residents/tenants.
  • Affinity for seniors
  • Capability to demonstrate compassion, respect, caring and a sense of home
  • Experience in supporting governance responsibilities of the Board of Directors and engaged, passionate workforce.

SALARY:        Commensurate with experience.  Rocky Senior Housing offers a comprehensive compensation package. 

The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Criminal Record Check.
