We are currently recruiting for a permanent, full-time Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Reporting to the General Manager, Corporate Services, the CIO is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the City’s Information Technology and Geomatics departments. This position recommends business systems, solutions and innovative ideas that strategically support the current and future operational needs of all City departments. The CIO oversees the installation and implementation of comprehensive IT infrastructure, services, and policy on behalf of the City of Leduc. The CIO builds relationships to ensure communications and collaboration with IT and Geomatics across the organization and ensures that these operations provide stable, secure and reliable technical support services to meet current and future needs. This position is a key member of the City’s broader senior leadership team and operates as a change management champion for the City of Leduc. The incumbent must be able to collaborate with all levels of internal and external resources and stakeholders involved in, or affected by, the delivery of information technology solutions in support of the department’s programs. This requires extensive and current knowledge of technical directions, superior communications and interpersonal skills and strong problem solving skills. The ability to set appropriate policy and recommend effective use of technology are also crucial competencies required by this role.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Business Administration or a related field, and a minimum of 10 years of direct IT management experience with increasing responsibilities for senior management and support of information systems and information technology within a major IT operation. ITIL Practitioner level expertise and experience in a municipal public sector setting are desirable, specifically in technology and information systems strategy to support business goals. The successful candidate must be willing to provide a current Criminal Records Check as part of the hiring process.
