EQUIPMENT OPERATOR II

(Permanent, Full-time)

 

Parkland County has a Permanent, Full-time position available in the Public Works Department for an Equipment Operator II. Reporting to the Foreman, your duties will include operating a variety of trucks and road maintenance equipment (mainly a self-propelled spray patching truck). You will perform labour related duties when not operating vehicles or equipment and may be required to work with minimal supervision. The ability to effectively organize equipment and materials to accomplish objectives in an efficient manner and keep accurate, detailed, legible records are required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum two years’ experience operating a variety of equipment including tandem trucks, motor graders, front end loaders, etc.
  • Experience operating spray patching equipment is desirable, however, training will be provided.
  • Valid Class 3 Alberta Operators License with Q (air) endorsement. Upon hire, a current commercial driver’s abstract must be provided.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Mechanically inclined.

$32.49 per hour plus benefits

Hours of Work:

8 hours/day; 40 hours/week

This position is covered by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union No. 955 Collective Agreement.
