Parkland County has a Permanent, Part-time position available within the Human Resources Department for a Safety & Training Clerk. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Safety & Training Clerk provides support to Parkland County’s safety program by setting up and tracking safety training needs through Learning Management System (LMS) and provides file management, data entry and general administrative support to the Safety Coordinator. The Safety & Training Clerk will also assist with data entry and maintenance of the Learning Management System and the coordination and facilitation of staff training programs, sessions and events hosted by Human Resources. This position requires strong initiative, attention to detail and the ability to work independently.


  • High-school graduation supplemented by post-secondary course work in safety, training/adult education or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an administrative capacity. Working knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Legislation is desirable.
  •  Proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite) and the ability to quickly adapt to new programs.
  •  Previous experience with an electronic Learning Management System is an asset.
  •  Possession of a valid Alberta driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Competition Number: 18-11
Rate of Pay: $23.45 - $29.31 per hour
Hours of Work: 35 hours bi-weekly
Competition Closing Date: Friday, January 26, 2018 at 4:30 p.m.
