Parkland County has a Seasonal Maintenance Service Worker II position available with the Engineering Services Department, working from mid-April to December each year. Reporting to the Drainage Foreman, you will provide hands on semi-skilled or manual labour and related duties in the maintenance of the overland drainage systems in Parkland County. The ability to work independently, communicate effectively with the public and other staff, and keep legible records is required.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Related labour experience, including using and maintaining various hand and power tools and equipment with the capability of performing physical labour duties as required.
  • Experience in drainage related construction such as culvert installation, ditching and bridge repairs is an asset.
  • Heavy equipment operating experience is an asset.
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license. Current commercial driver’s abstract must be provided at time of hire.
  • Valid Alberta Class 3 Driver’s License with Q (air) endorsement is considered an asset.

Competition Number: 18-25
Hours of Work: 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week

This position is covered by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union No. 955 Collective Agreement.
