AAMDC Undertaking Study Regarding the Provincial Strategy for Aggregate Resource Management

At the Fall 2010 Convention, the AAMDC membership passed resolution 15-10F: Provincial Strategy for Aggregate Resources Management. The AAMDC is moving forward to provide leadership on this issue through a study to review the current aggregate resource management system in the province. The goal of this study is to ensure equitable aggregate resource access to meet the needs of municipal infrastructure initiatives moving forward.

The AAMDC has contracted Charette Pell Poscente Environmental Corp. (CPPENV) to complete this project and will be requesting member involvement to gather information and better understand the challenges our members have regarding aggregate resource management. A letter has been distributed to administrative staff at each of AAMDC’s 69 member municipalities requesting participation in a brief on-line survey that will be distributed via e-mail by CPPENV.  Member involvement in this process is greatly appreciated, and will help to set the context for the further review and recommendations during this project.

It is estimated that CPPENV will complete this project by Fall 2013 and the final report will be shared with AAMDC members once it is available.

The AAMDC would like to thank members for their involvement in this process and looks forward to continuing to advocate on this issue.
